I do feel there is a line to keep where you still know that you have a professional relationship with your customers
while developing a deeper interaction or possibly friendship that will continue, but it is possible to keep this quiet line.</description>

I never got that one too: how can being &quot;guarded&quot; ever establish an honest relationship with prospects/clients? If it is not natural in your character to be &quot;guarded&quot; then when you try to follow this &quot;advice&quot; your whole body-languages shows you&#039;re not happy but your prospect/client doesn&#039;t have a clue why you are not happy.
It is just so counter-productive IMHO. It&#039;s always better to be yourself, in any situation but really important when building a relationship.
