Karin, thanks so much for your further personal contribution here.

I totally agree with you about women also having plenty of disquiet, and I think that Dave does, too. As I mentioned to you, a chunk of his career was in coaching executive males, so that was the world he saw.

Interestingly, Dave had an open phone forum the other night, and a woman was the prime contributor, although she was there more for suggestions about dealing with her partner's disquiet.

What I am finally doing better at embracing, thank God, is the fact that disquiet is, for me, a signal that I have something inside myself to face and "clean", which then leads me deeper.

Quite the journey!

Thanks again, Karin.

Hi again Stuart

As promised, more ponderings on the interview.
Other sentence that stood out for me is related to the one I'd already mentioned.

"Acknowledging the disquiet is the very door to be invited to grow".
My thoughts (and feelings) exactly. And now I might step on Dave's toes (sorry Dave), but I don't really agree with his website statement that disquiet is typical for men. I am not a a-typical woman and know a lot of other women who feel/think the same.

To me it is a human characteristic, feeling 'restless', feeling 'is this all'? looking/yearning even for better answers - deeper understanding of it all: "What's my purpose". That's why your insight in this rings so true: we need to be challenged (i.e. yearning for deeper answers/understanding) in order to grow/evolve even. Dave calls this the disquiet in men, I call it human social nature.
A guide in this is very helpful, either quiet time to think/ponder on your own or with trusted others. And some call it Spiritual yearning and find guidance in the Divine.

Thanks for letting us 'listening in'

Karin H.

Stuart,
Just recently came across your blog and listened to the podcast just a bit ago. I, too, have had to "walk straing in to the disquietness." Difficult, but also very empowering.

Karin, thank you.

I would love to see some of what you noted down. Any other thoughts? We can continue the discussion.

Take good care,

Hi Stuart

Listened to the podcast a few minutes ago. Have to ponder a bit more about it, it's very impressive, to say the least.
Made some notes too during listening.
One thing that really stood out for me was (and I can relate to that very much) "you have to walk straight in to the 'disquietness'"

Talk to you soon, take care for now

Regardless of the time zones, you tune in pretty darned well, Karin. By the way, I just put up the podcast only 2 hours or so ago, so you really were tuned in!

Be well,

Stuart

Don't forget Stuart that over here it's already late afternoon ;-)
3.48pm to be precise. So I 'tune' in very, very early according to your 'time-line'

There you go again, Karin, tuning in before I even know what is going on.

I hope you enjoy it, and I would love any response.

Blessings, take good care,

Well now, Stuart, isn't that typical!

Bookmarked the podcast only yesterday to listen to it when I find some more time, possibly tomorrow ;-)
