A little follow-up on Daniel.

We spoke again this morning, and Donna Karan has asked him to stay with her as a consultant for her health initiative. And right after Donna's Urban Zen conference Depak Chopra has asked Daniel to work with him on a world health initiative that he has, too.

As Daniel was heading out of town from the Urban Zen conference, there was an old friend who is now working with Depak Chopra, and he told Daniel that he had been telling Depak that he wanted to involve Daniel. Depak then emailed Daniel asking for a meeting. Daniel's slice of the Universe is opening like wild!

Then I have a cousin who I am quite close to who has also been a fairly significant figure in health and insurance issues in the world. Wonderful guy. Trying to get he and Daniel to meet next week.

I am so pleased that Daniel is out there doing what he does with all the Light that he carries and transmits. The world is a better place for it.

Will keep you posted.

Yes, my friend. It can be amazing to find out sometimes how others perceive us and what effects we have had on them.

You take care,

Hi Stuart

Know the feeling. I've always found it hard to accept compliments (am a bit like Richard C), because I could not really imagine I'd done something that would be worth a compliment.

We all learn ;-)

Karin, I am happy to hear that about Richard.

When I was told that statement years ago, I started to become aware of how many people do reject compliments, and I became aware of the feeling of that closing down the depth of connection.

Thanks for writing back.

Be well.

Hi Stuart

"To discount a compliment is to some extent discount the person giving you the compliment. "

I know Richard C is happy to accept my compliments, he tells me so and always says "thank you for your kind words ;-) and then goes on: but.... ;-)
He's humble.

Mark, wonderful points.

We all have our roles, whatever they are.

Back in the mid 1970's I worked for a year and a half in ghettos in Myrtle Beach, SC. Oh yea, off the beaten track and away from the golf courses and the beach, but they are there.

I got to know residents there who helped change my life and set the tone for me that has expanded ever since. I still keep in touch with some of them.

And I saw things that blew many minds. One day the single most powerful public figure in the county got up on a new tractor and personally graded the yard of a child development center we had just finished building. He called in to his dispatcher and told her he was unavailable for the rest of the day.

Love, love, love. Just like you say.

Thanks, Mark.

I love Daniel, and I'm really pleased at where he is contributing now, Stuart- thanks for bringing this to light.

I'm reminded of a quote from Mother Theresa: "No one can do great things- you can only do small things with great love."

Daniel has consistently, for over 30 years, brought greater and greater love to his area of work, and the small things he does on a daily basis are having greater and greater impact.

The important thing for me, in this inspiring story, is to not fall into comparison (wow, look at where Daniel is and what he's doing!) but to remember that each of us has the potential to make a tremendous impact through the small things we do. And, those small things build on one another.

A skyscraper is not built in one great big jump- there are a million small pieces built upon one another that create that impact.

Love, love, love. Thank you again, Stuart.

Karin, thank you for contributing here. I know you are giving Richard a big ROI.

You know, years ago someone told me that it is actually impolite to not accept a compliment. This statement took me up short. They told me to breathe in a compliment silently and simply say, "Thank you". When I started doing this the world expanded a little more. To discount a compliment is to some extent discount the person giving you the compliment. To accept it is to take in more of how you are affecting others.

You give much yourself.

Take good care,

Stuart

Hi Stuart

Thanks for sharing your story about Daniel. It and the comments here reminds me strongly of one of the most caring confident humble 'servants' I know. My friend (and mentor in many areas of my life)Richard C is just that, always giving. But giving in his specific humble (nonetheless confident) way, always more interested in how others cope, grow, are than looking for acknowledgement of his 'giving'.
(He 'brushes' off compliments; always 'countering' them with: "what I do is my investment". I'm always trying to find ways to give him ROI ;-)

Dave, I am so pleased you bring up your point about humility, and you said it well.

I find this is huge! Thinking I am the doer shrinks my world, shrinks the possibilities of what can come through. Inviting in the Maker with a firm sense of gratitude and faith has yielded remarkable results too many times for me to think it is an accident.

Like you say, getting out of our own way...

Thanks, Dave.
